PRATI Reconnections Webinar Series: Psychedelics, Nature Relatedness, and Ecological Grief with Dr. Sam Gandy

Dr. Sam Gandy

We kick off our webinar series with a presentation and conversation with Dr. Sam Gandy. Psychedelic medicines have been promoted as a means to “save the planet” and address ecological grief. Join PRATI and ecologist Dr. Sam Gandy for this timely webinar and conversation where we explore and discuss the research on psychedelic medicines and nature connectedness. This conversation will explore set and setting, and explore the belief that we are independent and isolated beings rather than part of an interconnected web of life, our bodies more non-human cells than human, part of a living planet upon whose gifts we depend for our very existence.

Sam is a lifelong nature lover and has been fortunate enough to conduct ecological field research in various parts of the world. He is a PhD ecologist, researcher and science writer, with experience in the psychedelic field as a past scientific assistant to the director of the Beckley Foundation, a research assistant with the Synthesis Institute, and a senior science writer with Wavepaths. He is also a collaborator with the Centre for Psychedelic Research at Imperial College London with a research interest in the capacity of psychedelics to influence our connection to nature.
