Musings on Music: Sublingual Sessions 8
Hosted by Stephen Thomas, LCSW
Webinar Date: November 20, 6:30-8 p.m. MT
PRATI KAP Training music faculty Stephen Thomas hosts an interactive exploration of our Spotify playlist, Sublingual Sessions 8. Darren Fisher is next on deck as guest curator for the series, offering up a mystical and mysterious voyage into sonorous soundscapes that evoke the illusory, dreamlike nature of reality. As faculty and playlist curator for PRATI’s End-of-Life PAT training program, Darren’s musical aesthetic merges transcendent and existential themes to ferry untethered souls across vast oceans toward warm and welcoming shores. His discerning ear and contemplative focus truly shine in this powerful journey soundtrack designed for transformative KAP sessions. Join us to commune with the tunes and pick Darren’s brain while listening live to select tracks from the playlist. And don’t forget your headphones!
About Darren Fisher
Darren Fisher is a Registered Nurse and psychedelic-assisted therapy facilitator living in Denver, Colorado. His fascination with making music began when he discovered a dusty, old drum set in storage at his grandparents’ home while in grade school. It was love at first sight and sound! He has played drums in various bands over the years and more recently taken up learning to play the duduk, the bansuri, and tabla.
Upon reading about the transformative shifts people experienced in end-of-life psilocybin studies, he dove into learning about psychedelic-assisted therapy, with the aim of bringing it to support hospice patients and their loved ones. Experiencing the powerful interplay between ketamine and music during ketamine-assisted therapy training sparked a desire to create session playlists for journeys for healing and for enhancing meditation. Creating playlists for client work and trainings has become a new creative outlet that continues to deepen Darren’s passion for music and healing.
