Andrea Millen, PsyD
Dr. Andrea Millen (she/her) is founder of Courageous Roots Institute and is a licensed psychologist. Andrea believes healing is holistic in nature. She created Courageous Roots to inspire people to courageously live in their authenticity by transforming their relationship to doubt and anxiety. She often integrates the science and art of mind-body practices as an addition to therapy. She is a visual artist and has extensive training in embodiment and yogic practices.
Andrea offers speciality therapy for people who experience Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), BFRBs, hoarding, and related anxiety disorders. She also facilitates 8-session groups for people who experience OCD called “Compassion Circles”, weaving in embodiment practices, compassion-focused exploration, art making, and self-inquiry.
Andrea is interested in exploring the potential benefits of integrating Ketamine Assisted Therapy (KAP) as adjunct to evidence-based treatment for people experiencing OCD. During her postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford, she worked with Dr. Carolyn Rodriguez and The Rodriquez Lab investigating the potential benefits of ketamine for OCD. In 2021 and 2022, Andrea served as an Assistant for the Psychedelic Coalition for Health’s KAP training for mental health and medical providers. She is a graduate of PRATI’s Ketamine and Psychedelic Medicine Training.
