Through my own need to heal from past traumas and systems of oppression, I have been called to help others in their healing journeys. I specialize in helping people manage challenging life transitions. I support them as they navigate through life’s changes that can be overwhelming but also rewarding. I believe our potential to change and improve our lives is unlimited. I provide therapy that empowers you to realize your potential to enhance your life. I employ culturally responsive and strengths-based approaches to help guide my clients towards improved mental health and wellness. My approach is tailored to the specific needs and goals of each client. I bring in elements of cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness practices, narrative therapy, and motivational interviewing to help my clients access the insights they seek from engaging in therapy.
My first goal is to establish trust. Trust is necessary for clients to feel safe and open to share their experiences. I model transparent communication with my clients. This is done as a part of establishing trust and in support of a client centered relationship. I bring an equity perspective in my work with clients and deep understanding of how current systems of care have created harm. I do my best to not replicate the harm. I listen and reflect while encouraging my clients to fully embrace their own inner healing intelligence.
