Welcome to our August 2023 Newsletter!
We invite you to join us for a moment in this virtual space amidst our collective hurdling through the cosmos. In this newsletter, you’ll find our director’s reflection on the Perseids meteor shower and the miracle of living, an in-depth article on psychedelic integration techniques, an interview with a PRATI alumni telling her story of connection with the monarch butterfly, photos from our recent trainings, and more.
September also unfolds with a constellation of webinars. On Sept 14, join the latest installment in our psychedelic-assisted therapy playlists, Sublingual Sessions 5, with music faculty Stephen Thomas and playlist curator Phil Dames. We will also be hosting a conversation with Tiffany Sauls, MD, on psychedelic medicine and the healing power of nature on Sept 26.
METHODS & APPROACHES FOR PSYCHEDELIC THERAPY INTEGRATION
If you’ve spent any time in the psychedelic therapy world, you’ve likely heard the term “integration” used prolifically. But what exactly is integration, and why is it so important? Simply put, integration refers to making sense of a psychedelic experience and making changes in one’s life as a result.
REFLECTIONS ON A SUMMER OF KAP TRAININGS WHILE HURDLING THROUGH THE COSMOS
This past weekend, during our August Foundational KAP Training, we were gifted by a spectacular display of the Perseids. These meteor showers were apropos for our four days together exploring the mystery, each inducing an embodied sense of awe and wholeness. A felt sense of aliveness, a reminder of the miracle of living and interbeing on this planet we call home, hurdling through the cosmos.
BUTTERFLY EFFECT: A STORY OF MONARCH BUTTERFLIES & NATURE CONNECTION
Jennifer Walker, LMFT has a deep connection with the monarch butterfly, which grew in curious and mysterious ways over the course of several months, until her personal story and that of the butterfly inextricably intertwined. As we turn our attention towards particular things, like a butterfly, the ripples of that attention influence how we see ourselves, the world around us, and our place in the web of life.
HOW BEAUTIFUL TO HOLD SPACE – POEM BY LEAH BELLACK, LCSW
how beautiful to hold space
for people to drop into themselves –
fall out of this world and
explore their inner caves, nooks, and crannies.
guided by the music,
peeling back the layers –
a disconnection and reconnection
all at once –
honored to maintain their physical safety
as they dive in to explore this other realm.
