Heather Willihnganz Huffman, PhD, EdM, LCSW

As a licensed clinical social worker and psychological anthropologist, I take a psychodynamic, person-centered, and culturally sensitive approach. I work with adults and couples coping with anxiety, depression, loss, trauma/PTSD, neurodiversity, life transitions, and relationship, family, and cultural issues. I draw on attachment theory, narrative therapy, CBT, DBT, ACT, EFT, and mindfulness practices. I earned a PhD in Psychological Anthropology from UCLA, a Master’s in Human Development and Psychology from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education, and a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. I offer ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (preparation, sitting, and integration) when appropriate for clients.
My clinical work focuses on growth, connection, and self-expression. I support clients’ desires for meaningful relationships with themselves, their loved ones, their communities and cultures, and nature. I support clients’ desires to explore existential understandings and experiences that provide them with a sense of the sacred. I believe everyone has an innate capacity for connection, joy, and reverence.
